Most of the time, assertiveness is labeled as a rude characteristic because people confuse it with aggressiveness. But if there is an instrument to measure human behavior, assertiveness assessment would fall right in the middle, with hostility at one end and passiveness at the other. If we define it properly, assertiveness is the quality of being self-assured, bold, and confident, not being frightened to point out things you believe. It is a learnable skill through communication.

Assertive People – are firm and direct. Don’t blame others. Concentrate on the present. They are confident about who they are.

Aggressive People – Are dominant, and rude. Get their way no matter what, like to get even and don’t care about others.

Few of us lie in the middle stack, but most of us lack assertive assessment that you can give and learn about who you are and what you can become.
